James Brown tribute post

The “Godfather of Soul", James Brown, has died at the age of 73 in Atlanta.

James Brown was known for hits including I Got You (I Feel Good), Papa's Got a Brand New Bag and Living in America, he went by “Mr. Dynamite,” “Soul Brother No. 1,” “the Minister of Super Heavy Funk” and “the Godfather of Soul,” and he was all of those and more.

Many performers, from Mick Jagger to Michael Jackson, imitated James Brown’s stage moves like the spins, the quick shuffles, the knee-drops, and the splits.

He contributed much to the music of our time and will be missed.

Link Value

I'm a big fan of Jim Boykin's blog and have seen some great posts regarding link value as of late.

Search Engine Land - conference in the works?

When I was at Chicago's Search Engine Strategies, I overheard something kind of interesting that Danny Sullivan said to someone.

Apparently, there are plans in the works for Search Engine Land to hold a conference of their own around June, probably in Seattle.

Since Seattle was mentioned, I wondered if perhaps Rand from SEOMOZ, who happens to be based out of Seattle, would be involved?
